Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRh), which provides a higher level of regulation of reproductive function, is released by the hypothalamus and binds to the GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, leading to the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).
